About Us
Dr. George Shapiro DC, Chiropractor
Dr. George Shapiro has served the greater Los Angeles and Pasadena areas for over 30 years, through his practice Cornerstone Chiropractic. He is bilingual, speaking English and Spanish. With specialties in pregnancy, pediatrics, physical injury and expertise in treating difficult cases, Dr. Shapiro has developed a solid reputation in the local community, where he volunteers much of his time as a leader and mentor.
With a passion for working with the birth community, he partners with obstetricians, midwives, doulas, serves mothers throughout their pregnancies, supports expectant fathers (they need help adjusting too!), provides chiropractic care for newborns, children and the entire family.
Dr. Shapiro has a strong desire to make chiropractic care accessible, offering affordable plans and compassionate care, in a fun, friendly environment. A second generation practitioner, Dr. Shapiro, follows in his mother's footsteps, as a "people's doctor", whose greatest joy is being of service.
Office Manager: Davida (Dav) Pumphrey
Dav joined the Cornerstone team in early 2023, upon the retirement of Daisy, who managed the office for 23 years. A great fit for our team, she brings a warm loving nature as a mother of five, and education in child development and psychology. With a passion for helping others, she loves being of service and keeping our patients happy. Dav is fluent in Spanish, and great with the babies!
Office Greeter: Boscarina
Cornerstone is a pet friendly office. Dr. George’s 2 year-old sheepdog Boscarina greets patients and loves babies too, especially if they have snacks. Dr. George was trained in animal chiropractic 30 years ago, and also has two pugs, who work at home with mama.
Alissa - Lead Massage Therapist
Alissa specializes in prenatal, postnatal, and deep-tissue massage. She is also the mother of two children whom she homeschools. "Bodywork is truly my calling and the longer I do it, 10 years currently, the more I fall in love with it". Her work is focused, slow-paced, and intentional. She is always working to broaden her knowledge and further education to better serve Cornerstone clients.
