Q: Can Chiropractic help with my headaches?

A: Yes. Once of the most common symptoms our patients complain of is headaches.  There are different types of headaches, cluster, tension, migraine are just a few.  There are also different “triggers” that may “spark” or cause a headache to develop.  From a chiropractic perspective, we always focus on structure, and any deviation from what we consider a normal positioning of our spine, may potentially cause pressure on the spinal cord.  Headache symptoms usually presents itself, from a structural perspective as a displaced or fixated C1-C5 vertebrae or as we refer to as a subluxated vertebrae.  Anatomically, if the first vertebrae is subluxated, the potential for pressure on the spinal cord may cause the blood vessels that bring blood to the brain to dilate causing “intracranial pressure.” What is most commonly a main cause of headaches. Chiropractic adjustments are administered to not only alleviate pressure on the spinal cord, but to remove the trigger mechanism for dilating blood vessels to the brain.

Q: I have low back pain, can chiropractic help?

A: Yes. When the vertebrae in the lumbar spine are displaced or not moving against each other properly, these vertebrae place pressure on spinal cord and spinal nerves that run through them. This pressure on the nervous system limits communication between the brain and the rest of your body’s tissues, leading to pain, inflammation, decreased range of motion, and an overall decrease in bodily function. Through specific Chiropractic adjustments to the lumbar spine we help our patients maintain the structural integrity of the lumbar spine in order to prevent low back pain and sciatica.

Q: Do you take insurance?

A: Yes.  However, Cornerstone Chiropractic is not an in network provider for any insurance so if you have insurance (PPO only) that covers chiropractic care, your benefits will need to be verified before your first appointment. The easiest way to do this is to contact us with your coverage information a day or two before your first appointment so that we can make the necessary calls.


Q: Do I need an appointment?

A: Yes. This is a busy practice and while we do allot time, daily, for walk-ins and emergencies, we try to keep everything moving smoothly and the easiest way to do that is by assigning appointments.  We will always do our best to accommodate your schedule. We ask that if you come in without an appointment you are patient with our schedule as we do our best to work you in.
